Every year our Tampa crew holds a back pack drive in combination with the LassiterWare Cares foundation. Supplies are collected, purchased, and given to two local schools in the Tampa area. One boy and one girl at each school from each grade level, K-5, receive a backpack full of supplies needed to start the school year off right!
Deliver the Difference is a nonprofit organization that is located throughout Central Florida and is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through life skills and nutrition. They have organized the distribution of over 400,000 meals in 2015 and we are proud supporters of this great cause. Each of our offices kicked off their own food drive and collected items to donate. Upon delivering these items LassiterWare Cares brought 45 individuals to participate in a meal packaging project.
At LassiterWare’s 2015 Annual Day of Discovery, LassiterWare Cares teamed up again with Deliver the Difference to fund a project out at Mission Inn, located in Howey-in-the-Hills. Every single LassiterWare employee was in attendance and participated in packing over 25,000 meals for distribution throughout the areas we serve in Florida and South Carolina flood victims.
Red Nose Day, run Comic Relief, is a campaign dedicated to raising money by having fun and making people laugh. Money raised is spent to help lift children and young people out of poverty in the US and some of the poorest communities in the world.
LassiterWare bought 100 Red Noses, enough for each employee, but had an idea for LassiterWare Cares in helping contribute even more to this great cause. LassiterWare Cares offered a Red Nose to each employee for $5 dollars. All proceeds went in support of Red Nose Day. Each office participated and wore their noses proudly.
The LassiterWare Cares Day of Service is a company wide event. Each office has their choice of who they would like to help and whether they would like to donate their time as a volunteer, make a monetary donation (provided by LWC & LassiterWare) or both!
2016 – For the Tampa Team, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas was the chosen organization for them to lend a helping hand. The Society of St. Vincent is a refugee for those need whether that be food, clothes or a place to stay. The Tampa Team helped out in the kitchen, the thrift store and then donated food items they had collected as well. Great job Team Tampa!
